Explore Biodiversity in the Rainforest of Panama
Join select high school partners on an adventure to the deep jungle of Mamoni Valley Preserve in Panama. Students will travel to Panama City, travel 2 hours to the heart of an old growth rainforest and work with Geoversity to reforest, regenerate and protect one of the most biodiverse places on the planet! We will explore the geopolitical and environmental history that sets modern Panama’s landscape and has shaped much of its culture.
Explore Environmental Impact & Biodiversity in the Rainforest of Panama
Discover the vibrant biodiversity and life of a primary rainforest just 2.5 hours from Panama City. Explore reforestation, agroforestry, bamboo and conservation projects led by Geoversity in Mamoní Valley Preserve while learning how to implement regenerative environmental change.
Dates: June 9-19, 2025
Location: Geoversity's Rainforest Campus in the Mamoni Valley Preserve of Panama (2.5 hours northeast of Panama City - google map location)
Cost: $3150 (+ medical insurance)
This cost includes roundtrip airfare to Panama City from SFO, all in-country food, transportation, and lodging, all project materials, coordinator staff, bilingual guides, and tours in Panama City and to the Panama Canal.

Lodging will be provided at Geoversity's Rainforest Campus in shared rooms with bunk beds in their bamboo dormitory, and in hotels in Panama City.
The trip activities will include:
Hike through an old growth rainforest with a naturalist guide to learn from the biodiversity and wildlife you will encounter in one of the most biodiverse places on the planet.
Work alongside local students in the school garden project.
Support the conservation of biodiversity and contributing to projects for research.
Learn management of bamboo forests - harvesting, treating, and building with bamboo.
Guided night tour through the jungle.
Spend time swimming in the rivers’ plunge pools and the campus’ 25m natural pool amidst in the plunge pool amidst the jungle surroundings.
Work and learn about agroforestry, fruit tree planting and harvesting.
Learn about local cuisine in a cooking class.
Explore Panama's Canal and learn about the history of this important geopolitical feature
Visit the BioMuseo in Panama City, the first museum dedicated to biodiversity in the world.
